Model Compound

Tucked amidst the tea gardens of Khumtai, Pallab Gogoi’s 17 bighas of land are a quiet revolution in motion. Since 2012, he has transformed farming into a high-yield ecosystem—raising broiler and local chickens, pigs, goats, pigeons, and fish alongside bananas, beet nuts, everyday household crops, including fruits like papaya, mango, muskmelon, and even dragon fruit. His fields are not split by crop or animal; they are interwoven like his vision: to turn every square foot into value. Where others see limitation, Pallab sees design.

His model is built on precision. He aims to get from one bigha what others need 10 to produce—minimizing waste, reducing middlemen, and teaching his children to manage the business side while he stays rooted in the soil. Visitors, especially young farmers, agripreneurs, and students of sustainable agriculture, will find a living example of how rural land can be reimagined. Khumtai finds in him not just a farmer but a mentor, proof that tradition and innovation can grow from the same ground.
