Meluha

Tucked away in the quiet village of Melamora in Khumtai, Meluha offers a rare kind of experience, part open-air museum, part nature escape, and part cultural retreat. It’s a place you travel back in time. Inside the chang-ghar style museum, you’ll find echoes of Assam’s past: objects once used in traditional kitchens, old hand tools, weaving instruments, manuscripts, musical instruments, hunting gear, and the clothes and masks worn during ancient performances. Whether you're a history lover or simply curious, Meluha gives you a walk-through journey of how people once lived, worked, read, and celebrated across generations in Assam.

Beyond the museum walls, the space opens up into a calm waterbody with boating, large open fields, and a garden full of local plants. Children can play freely in their own section while elders relax under shaded spaces or walk through tree-lined paths. The chang-ghar nearby adds a rustic charm, and simple snacks and meals are available for those who want to extend their stay. Altogether, Meluha is not just a destination—it’s an experience of culture, calm, and connection, perfect for families, explorers, and anyone looking to spend a quiet, meaningful day close to nature and heritage.
